It is obvious that you have no idea what makes a quality bagpipe. These pipes are cheaply made junk that any person serious about playing one should avoid. New students should start with a quality practice chanter and a quality teacher before ever investing in a set of pipes.
This is a joke.. right? Those “pipes” (and I use the term loosely) don’t come anywhere near the quality of an actual decent “budget” set. seriously. There are many great makers, none of which are mentioned. Kintail, Dunbar, Gibson, Hardie, Henderson, McCrae, McCallum, Naill, Shepherd, Wallace, Kron, John Walsh, Colin Kyo, Cushing, Atherton, Soutar, and on and on.

These picks are all absolute crap! This article should have never been published. The author isn’t even a piper! But I am. A decent set of bagpipes for a beginner, new, should be no less than $700. Don’t buy musical instruments of any kind off of Amazon! These are all made in Pakistan, sound terrible, and cannot be tuned properly. The author should be ashamed for not actually talking to a real bagpiper to learn what is good, and what is not.

Are you people freaking serious! No bagpiper in their right mind would purchase any of those sets. They’re poorly constructed and the materials they are made of can’t produce the sound qualities indicative of the Highland Bagpipe. As a professional bagpipes I find this article.both ignorant and insulting. Did you even consider consulting a professional bagpiper when you decided to write an article about the instrument. Amazon’s bagpipes are crap
The words “professional”, “bagpipe”, and “rosewood” should NEVER be used in combination with each other. A simple google search should tell you that. If you’re looking budget pipes, go with a delrin set for $600-800. Pros all use Blackwood from a reputable maker and never Pakistan.
