Hi everyone. I currently have a DW performance series drum kit (22" kick, 14" snare, 10/12/14/16 toms, hi-hat, 4 cymbals). I currently have it mic'd as follows: Kick - Beta 52 outside/Beta 91A inside, Snare - SM57 top and bottom, Hi-Hat: SM-57, Toms: 4 Presonus tom mics, Overheads/Rooms: Modified MXL990/770 mics with the kits from microphone-parts.com to put K67/K47 LDC and new circuitry inside.
I guess my question is, are there any better ideas for mics for a great sound? I am finally pretty happy with the sound, overall, but I know there are always better options. Just wanted to see what others have done/are doing to see what I might be missing.
