I have spent hours trying to change the tempo of a music file in Melodyne Studio 5, but the program exports the file at a faster tempo than the one I assign. Can someone lend a hand and point out what I am overlooking in the steps I tired below? The manual is useless.

1. Drop a file into "Tracks" panel.
2. Click on "Edit Notes in Editor" icon
(left of the waveform). The track
will now appear in the "Editor" pane
below.
3. Click on any blob in "Editor" pane
-> press "Ctrl+A" to select entire
track.
4. Edit (upper text menu) -> point to
"Tempo" -> choose "Detect Tempo of
Selection." A Tempo Map will be
created automatically. Make sure
"Auto Stretch" icon is not enabled.
5. Double-click in BPM field next to
metronome at upper right -> type
in the temp you wish to assign ->
press "Enter" key.
6. Repeat step 4 to confirm the BPM
you assigned is kept. Melodyne
will export whatever tempo is
determined is determined.

The track I loaded was determined to be 73 bpm; I assigned it as 82 bpm. It was exported as 99 bpm. I repeated the steps, after which Melodyne exported it a 111 bpm. The program is awesome but seems to randomly generated numbers when working with tempo. Has anyone succeeded in accurately changing tempo in Melodyne?
