I barely understand what I am about to write. I use Reaper and some Neural plugins for playing around with recording my guitar, but nothing serious and I have a rudimentary understanding of things.
I've been following the Neural information about how the interface should be set to match their tests and have the plugins react as they intended. I want to play with things a bit.
I need to add 3.8 dBu to my signal and I don't want to do that to each preset in the Neural plugin. I almost always use artist plugins and it would be a nightmare to change very one of them. If I change interfaces, I don't want to go down that path again.

Can someone recommend a basic trim/gain plugin that I can save in a template and move on with my life?

I found this in the default Reaper plugins, but don't know if this is correct or how to use it.
I'm a little out of my element here.
